If you have at least one information product of your own creation, you need to have a plan for what else you will offer. It is very rare for an infopreneur to make a fortune on one information product. Think about it. If you sell a lot of your first information product, obviously you have done a great job of identifying a need in the marketplace, creating content that is considered valuable by your audience and getting the word out about it. Don’t you want to capitalize on the success of your first offering by having a second offering? A third offering? And so on? Of course you do! Think about it. Hollywood creates a movie that becomes a blockbuster hit. We'll call it Super Over The Top Movie. Even if they kill off a main character, you know that the sequels to Super Over The Top Movie 2, 3 and 25 are just around the corner. And then when sequels run dry, Hollywood goes backwards and they create prequels until they pretty much hit the stone age. Learn from Hollywood. If you have a hit, you leverage it for all it is worth.
The most effective way to know what you're going to sell as your "sequels" is to do product planning upfront--just like any major company does (or should do). There's no need to miss out on information product revenue because you lack an information product line plan.
